Consumers Be Aware - Most Latex Mattresses Sold On the Market Today Use Synthetic Latex Made From Petrochemical Products, Instead of Real Latex! Why Settle For Less Than the Real Thing?
The Incredibly Comfortable Softness Found Only In A 100% All Natural Latex Mattress. Up To 80% Of Latex Used In Latex Bed Manufacturing Is Primarily Made Of Synthetic Latex and Little, If Any, Natural Latex!
Unlike natural latex, synthetic latex is made from petroleum products ... and since synthetic latex is stiffer, coarse in texture, not as soft and inviting, and does not have the antibacterial, antifungal, and hypoallergenic qualities that Natural Latex provides, many people have no idea that they are missing out on the tremendous qualities of this uniquely amazing and all natural material! Since Natural Latex is inherently more costly, most large scale bedding manufacturers don't even offer it..and substitute inferior synthetic latex without the customer ever noticing the difference, thinking that this is as good as it gets! Read more to learn about who we are, and what we offer..we think you'll find that our 100% Natural Latex Beds are the most comfortable beds you'll ever sleep on! You'll get an unbeatable price, a full 180 day trial period, a 20 Year Factory Warranty, Great Customer Service from a smaller company who uses the products we sell, our incredible Latex Pillows for FREE, a FREE Medical Grade Mattress Protector, and the best night's sleep of your life! Natural Vs. Synthetic Latex
Botanically derived Natural Latex is a unique gift from mother nature, harvested entirely by hand. The liquid material is tapped and collected, much like maple syrup, from just beneath the bark of the tree. It must be carefully gathered from Rubber trees one by one, grown on plantations which contain hundreds of thousands of trees. In fact, a queen size 6" natural latex mattress requires one day's output of 12 acres, containing 2500 rubber trees, with each tree weeping about 15 grams of liquid latex daily. Why is that important? The same 2500 rubber trees remove 143 metric tons of atmospheric carbon dioxide in one year. Each 12 acres of rubber trees employs 8 rubber tappers as well. Natural Latex is a renewable, natural material that offers unique properties unlike any other ... but you have to know what you're getting when you buy a latex mattress. Where Can I Find A Botanical Latex Mattress? The fact is, unless you ask for it by name, the odds are that you may be sold a "Latex Bed" which contains inferior synthetic latex, or it may even be constructed with only a small layer of latex on top (which may not even be natural), and then glued to a layer of cheaper, synthetic urethane foam beneath. Because botanical latex is more expensive and requires technical expertise to process and package, most large mattress companies simply do not have the margins which permit the use of premium Natural Latex in their bedding programs. The use of inferior, petrochemically derived synthetic latex can cause settling and bucketing problems down the road. Natural latex does not settle or pack down, or "bucket", as do other kinds of foam beds, air beds, conventional coil mattresses, futons, or pillowtop mattresses. Our Natural Latex is sourced from plantations on the island country of Sri Lanka, in the Indian Ocean, where the finest premium white latex rubber is grown and harvested in a tropical mountainous climate. Our Sri Lankan partner has over 60 years of experience in natural latex rubber technology and manufacturing, and allows us to offer what we believe to be the best Natural latex mattress on the planet. If you would like more detailed information about natural latex, read some of our FAQ's. Bottom line, Natural Latex is so supportive and resilient, that multiple layers, zones, and varying densities of foam are simply not necessary, nor are they often even distinguishable from a very simply designed mattress. Our experience has been that the more layers you build into a mattress, the more likely you are going to have problems such as shifting , migration of contents, and even crimping due to irregular lamination (failure to even distribute gluing products), as well as other problems. We offer three different models to meet a full range of comfort needs, which are all built on the same base layer of Sri Lankan premium white latex, 6" thick, using the time tested Dunlop method of vulcanization which yields a slightly firmer mattress (about 26 ILD, the unit of measurement of density for foam mattresses, being medium firm). If you choose our firmer 6" Natural Latex Mattress, you will get one continuous block of 6" botanical material, with our premium cotton and wool cover, which we discuss in detail below.
Our 8" Natural Latex Mattress and our 9" SkyBed® Latex Mattress are built using the same base layer of Sri Lankan White Latex rubber, created using the Dunlop method of vulcanization that comprises our firmer, more resilient 6" Natural Latex mattress. Building on this supportive underlying foundation, we add a layer of Talalay Natural Latex, which enhances the supportive qualities of our denser 6" Natural Latex with a more yielding, giving, and body conforming sensation, while still maintaining the extraordinary buoyant sensation found only with botanical latex. Because Talalay Natural Latex is created using a proprietary technique which finely emulsifies the liquid latex with smaller air cells, you'll experience a plusher, more "nestled in" feel, offering subtle body conforming qualities that distribute weight very effectively, dramatically reducing pressure points, but without that sinking, caving in feel. Best of all, on both our 8"Natural Latex Mattress and our 9" SkyBed® Natural Latex models where we add either 2" or 3" softer embellishment layers made using our Talalay Natural Latex, we use a safe, water based, non-toxic, non-formaldehyde based adhesive to permanently bond all layers of your mattress together. This permanent lamination eliminates migration and shifting issues completely. You'll also sleep soundly, knowing that your mattress is chemical free. Take the time to watch our "How To We Put Together Our Mattress Lineup" video above, and you'll get an in depth explanation determining which one of our beds is right for you, and why. Whether you need a firmer, more resilient mattress, or a softer, "nestled in" feel to get that perfect night's sleep, our lineup will meet most everyone's needs without requiring you to do any complicated math, and without having to design and build your own bed. We've tried our best to demystify and simplify choosing the correct natural latex mattress for you. A Unique Outer Covering Which Is Chemical Free, Doesn't Sleep Hot, And Is Simple In Design For an exterior outer covering on both of our models, we knew we wanted something that offered unparalleled comfort, and was free of fire retarding chemicals such as noxious Boric Acid, commonly used as a fire retardant and typically sprayed directly on to the fabric that you are in contact with. We wanted something clean, natural, and as "green" as the natural latex underneath, and enhanced the feel of our natural latex mattresses. We found a wonderfully soft, cotton fabric that gives both of our models a delightful, finished feel, soft and inviting. It doesn't skimp on curb appeal either, and we even offer a piping treatment around the entire edge, top and bottom, that gives our beds a beautiful, finished look. To meet the new, stricter, Federal flammability standards, the top cotton layer is backed up with a wonderful layer of wool vissle, a tightly woven wool layer, which offers chemical free fire retarding qualities as well as being extraordinarily comfortable and breathable. The covering is not excessively quilted or stuffed with fill materials like most mattresses, keeping you from being in intimate contact with natural latex. Rather, it is only 3/16" thick, giving you just the right amount of padding and support, enhancing the benefits of natural latex, rather than distancing you from it. The cover even has a zipper, allowing it to be removed and professionally dry cleaned (non-solvent dry clean, of course) if there is ever any need to, unlike most mattresses, where the outer covering is never removable. The cotton covering is only 3/16" inch thick, providing comfort and support, without keeping you too far away from the natural latex, thereby minimizing its benefit. We wanted people to be "close up and personal" with their natural latex mattress. One thing we were quite concerned about was the shipping process for our Natural Latex Beds. Being in the bedding industry, particularly on the freight side of things, can be a real eye opening experience. Forklifts in warehouse can damage beds, improper handling of mattresses cause tears and rips that can damage packages, and because of damage claims, it gets very expensive, and those costs are handed down to the consumer. According to Bedroom Magazine, a bedding industry monthly, up to 20% of the retail costs for bedding products, especially mattresses, is for transportation and shipping alone, if you use common carrier freight services, instead of a more efficient method of packaging and shipping such as UPS. Our solution to keeping costs for our customers down was to use a unique vacuum packaging shipping solution, so that we could ship via UPS and avoid the scheduling and handling problems associated with "big freight". This technique of packaging insures that our product arrives in pristine condition. It also makes it easy for you to take your latex mattress in the shipping box into the bedroom, and open and install the mattress there. Our beds are rolled and placed into heavy plastic bags in a clean room environment; the air is then removed from the bags, reducing the volume of the container by about 2/3. The rolled bed is then inserted into a shipping box, the box is securely sealed and strapped, and the bed is shipped via UPS ... not a lumbering freight truck where your mattress would likely be commingled with tires, appliances, chemicals, and other items. Upon receiving the bed, it is easily removed from the box. We recommend two people, one to pull the mattress out, another to hold the box, and to assist in mattress placement. After opening the bag (don't use a knife!) the bed returns to its original factory state within 5 minutes, without any harm whatsoever to the bed. Like a butterfly from a cocoon, the mattress unfurls easily. All you need to do is "plop" it up and down once or twice, adjust the covering a bit, and your natural latex mattress is ready for you to enjoy. This unique method of delivery insures that our product arrives in perfect condition every time. It takes 12-14 calendar days to receive your mattress from the date you place your order. Every mattress we produce is custom made to order, including the cotton cover, and this insures that nothing we ship has been collecting dust in a warehouse. Although we are a high volume operation, each individual order is handcrafted and meticulously cared for from the moment we custom select your Sri Lankan Latex base layer, to the minute it arrives at your door. An Unbeatable Warranty, Return Policy, And 180 Day Trial You'll get a full 20 Year Factory Warranty from our manufacturer that provides 100% replacement value for a full 3 years, and the replacement value is modestly prorated over the remaining 17 years. The warranty covers detailed and specific issues such as body impressions, lamination, and general sewing and construction of the exterior covering. You will also be part of our exclusive 180 Day Trial Period - if you don't like it for any reason within 180 days of purchase, feel free to return it. We want to let you know up front, however, that we have very few returns because of the high quality of our Natural Latex material. The only thing we ask is that you pay a modest $75 return shipping charge, which is deducted from your full refund..and you can keep the 2 FREE Natural Latex Pillows and Medical Grade Mattress Protector as our FREE gift (a total value of about $179), just for giving us a shot. Get The Mattress By Itself Or With A Foundation We often get asked by our customers whether they should buy a Natural Latex mattress by itself or whether they need to get it as a complete set with a foundation. A Natural Latex mattress requires a firm, resilient surface, and many older "box spring" style foundations simply don't offer the proper support. Obviously, if you're changing sizes, you'll need a new foundation. Here's out best advice: If your existing foundation (or solid top, rigid foundation or "box spring") is fairly new (less than 5 - 7 years old) and has a supportive, firm surface, you should be able to save a bit and just buy the mattress by itself. To test whether your current foundation is still up to snuff, take off your existing mattress and stand along side to give it what we call "the knee test". Compress your knee into the foundation, and if you get one inch or depression or less while applying most of your weight, it's perfectly fine. If it sinks in substantially more than that, it's best to start with a new foundation. Check out our EZ Sleep Foundation, which is UPSable, easy to assemble, and is built using a slat system to provide passive ventilation for your mattress. Built using a slat system, it features fully upholstered sides, and is 8" tall. Click On A Mattress Below To Get All The Details And Pricing On Our All Natural Latex Mattress Lineup
