Technical, Certification, And Warranty Documents
Our Pure Latex is 100% botanically derived and contains zero synthetic material, petroleum based products, volatile organic compounds, or formaldehyde. Many web sites and retailers will claim that either Dunlop latex, or Talalay latex, contains at least some ingredients that are not natural.
This is incorrect information and unfounded. In fact, the only ingredient which is added when the liquid latex is being prepared for solidification during the vulcanizing process are soaping solutions to help emulsify the latex to make it water soluble during the process. After vulcanization, all of our latex cores, the building blocks for all of our latex products, are rinsed and squeezed (literally wrung out) three times with drinkable water. This removes all of the water soluble soaping agents, just like when you rinse you hands after washing with hand soap.
What is left is pure unadulterated latex. Many companies selling so-called "natural latex" mattresses at seemingly low, discounted prices are often in fact using adulterated blended or synthetic latex- which is made using SBR (styrene butadiene rubber) may be used, which is a petroleum based product, mixed with either little or no pure latex rubber.
The compound is often used in combination with pure latex rubber, but this dilution always dampens the performance of latex rubber, reducing it's elasticity, causing the material to dry out and break down faster, and it dramatically reduces the cost of the compound so manufacturers of rubber based products can make more money.
Here are the certification documents for both our Pure Dunlop Latex Rubber, and our Pure Talalay Latex, both certified by third party organizations certifying the materials as having no contaminants, and being strictly composed of pure latex rubber. For our Dunlop pure latex, we use Latex Global Pure Dunlop, and Mountain Top Pure Dunlop, and the certifications for both are shown below.
Please note that we use Talalay Global's Pure, Natural Talatech, not the blended Talatech, or the synthetic SBR material. This is noted on our certification below.
As you may have already discovered, unlike many other manufacturers who use formaldehyde based quick set adhesives to laminate layers of latex together, we use a revolutionary water based adhesive so safe, it is labelled by the Federal Government for use in infant and crib bedding. This adhesive is more expensive than fast glues, is more technically challenging to apply, and takes longer to cure.
However, the amount of glue that off gasses indefinitely in consumer products is so scary, that it is not surprising that many of these toxic ingredients, like heavy metals, PBDE's (poly-brominated diethyl ethers), formaldehyde, and other noxious compounds, can be found in virtually every American in random bloodwork at some level.
We take pride in using a water based adhesive that contains none of these toxic ingredients. Scroll down page to find our third party certification for our Saba water based adhesive, which contains no VOC's, no formaldehyde, no heavy metals, PBDE's, or other toxic materials.

FIRE BARRIER MATERIAL CERTIFICATIONS
All of our mattresses are required by Federal Law to meet and pass FR 1633 Flammability Testing. Instead of using toxic, spray on chemicals such as Boric Acid, we use a barrier material which is attached to the underside of the top of the outer covering, as well as the sides, and is lightweight and breathable, so it does not interfere with the feel of the mattress, and also keeps the mattress from sleeping hot. The material we use is Cellulose, a natural fiber derived from wood pulp. When finely spun into a dense weave, it successfully forms a fire barrier capable of withstanding the strict standards required by licensed testing labs. In order to carry a "Federal Fire Tag", our mattresses must use barriers that pass these stringent tests. We're excited that we can offer a chemical free, non-toxic fire barrier fabric with our mattress lineup. Click the link below to view the certification documents.
